Casual Complex Care Worker – Weekend Shifts Preferred

We’re seeking passionate Complex Care Workers to join our casual pool – with a strong preference for those available on weekends.
At NRCH, we support people who use drugs through trauma-informed, harm reduction-focused outreach and care. Our AOD Outreach & Community Engagement team provides 7-day support across the North Richmond area, offering real-time responses to complex issues like homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and food insecurity.
About the Role
As a Complex Care Worker, you’ll work on-foot across the North Richmond precinct, providing holistic support and brief interventions to people who use drugs. You’ll complete assessments, develop care plans, respond to overdoses, and link clients into vital services – all while building trusted relationships with community members.
This is a casual role with weekend shifts a priority (Saturday and Sunday AM or PM).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outreach and brief interventions across the community
- Provide clinical assessments and escalate care where needed
- Work collaboratively with MSIR, mental health, lived experience, and outreach team members
- Share and manage caseloads and referral pathways
- Promote harm reduction, including NSP and naloxone distribution
- Engage with local residents and businesses to support safe and inclusive communities
You’ll Bring:
- Nursing qualification with AHPRA registration
- CPR and First Aid certification (desired)
- Experience in AOD, outreach, or harm reduction settings
- Strong engagement and communication skills
- A calm, compassionate, and trauma-informed approach
- Flexibility to work across weekend shifts
